Our Spring session has begun!
During break I enjoyed playing with the building a little, as is my way. I repaired another small wall in front of our lounge. We’re also going to add back a screen door to the main shop, which meant I finally had to settle on our building colors in order to paint the door before it goes up. (I’ll also be getting some painting quotes for the building facade shortly. Yay!!:).
Also during break I cooked our Fall pumpkin decoration, but for a fun twist, I decided to ferment it rather than make soup. If all goes well, we’ll have a fun wine in about a year and a half. :)
We started our new class session this week, which meant I braved our new kiln shelves and pounded out a couple of big firings of last session’s work. I’ll need to tweak the process a little, but the shelves worked out great. My prototype wine bottles are lovely, though I need to change the neck diameter to get them to fit standard wine corks. My goal is to bottle my own wine in home-made wine bottles. (For fun, not to sell). Fortunately for everyone else, I will be selling the prototypes for you to use as oil pourers, wine decanters, or whatever suits your fancy. :) The clay pipes turned out great, and I’m going to have a couple of friends test them out so I can give an honest report on how they actually work.
